This Torch is a light to throw

This torch is a light to throw

Its message throughout the world

Blazing with the fire of justice,

Burning with the glow of truth

Bright with the might of mutual respect,

In this fight against the forces of evil.

This flame is a statement of fact

That we all judged by each act

That the truth can not be dimmed,

That the wicked shall never win

That torture shall not be rewarded

And that force shall finally fail.

This torch is a flame to reach out

To those who have chosen truth,

Compassion and tolerance,

To those who are kept in the dark

To those who are under the lash

To those who are being thrashed.

This flame is a message of our love

In the darkness of the torture cells.

It sends courage to those who suffer

It sends strength to those who are weakened

It sends comfort to those who mourn

It sends light to defy the darkness.

Through this flame we send knowledge

That those who deny human justice

That those who defy rights of freedom

That those who maim and torture

That those who snuff out honest lives

Shall not win the race of honour.

And this torch is our weapon

Against those who gag others

Against those who hide from the truth

Against those who think might is right

Against those who wield batons

And against those who steal organs.

As we light this symbol of truth

Knowing that truth will conquer,

Knowing justice will be done

We send forth this torch of power

This power to set the world alight

In the fight for human rights.
