維克多‧波頓議員就高智晟被捕向駐墨爾本中領事抗議
【大紀元8月19日訊】8月18日凌晨得知國內維權律師高智晟被捕，澳大利亞民主中國陣線即刻去函澳州政府和國會，知會事情的發生，以引起澳洲社會的關注。澳大利亞維多利亞州議員維克多.波頓先生得知此信息後，當即去函中華人民共和國駐墨爾本總領事館提出抗議，同時將抗議信抄送秦晉，請見附件。
總領事先生：
據我所知：北京維權律師高智晟星期二在山東姐姐家被警察突然抓捕已兩天，目前關押地點不明，與此同時，高智晟在北京的兩個侄子也被帶往派出所，他的妻子耿和也無法聯絡到。有評論認為，當局此次行動也許只為山東盲人律師陳光城18號的開審而暫時限制高智晟的自由，也可能是全國性的逮捕行動的前奏。
請告訴我以上指控是否屬實，如果屬實，我表示抗議，我的選民也表示抗議。

My dear Consul-General,
I understand that Mr Gao Zhisheng, Beijing based civil rights attorney, was reportedly detained by his associates a couple of days ago by police in the event of visiting his elder sister in Shan Dong Province. So far the place of his detention is still unknown. Mr Gao’s two nephews were taken to the police station in Beijing and Gao’s wife is not contactable. It is speculated that the detention of Mr Gao Zhisheng could be temporarily depriving his freedom and preventing him from providing legal assistance to the court hearing on 18th August of another civil rights attorney Chen, Guangcheng, or a prelude of nation wide detention of civil rights activists.
Would you be able to advise whether these allegations are true and if so, please convey my protest and that of my constituents?
