【大紀元2017年07月04日訊】(大紀元記者陳俊村報導)美國國會圖書館(Library of Congress)收藏了超過2,500幅17至20世紀初的日本浮世繪(Ukiyo-e)作品。該館將其中上千幅作品掃描並在網上展示,可供世界各地的藝術愛好者欣賞,並領略其中的歷史或文化意涵。
浮世繪起源於17世紀的江戶(現今的東京),它是一種涵蓋彩色印刷的木版畫和手繪畫作的藝術形式,主要描繪人物、風景、日常生活等主題。所謂「浮世」是現代、當代之類的意思,因此浮世繪即描繪世間風情的畫作。
在19世紀中葉之前,這樣的藝術品都無法離開日本。從1850年代開始,日本與西方國家簽訂新的貿易協議,這才終結該國200多年的鎖國政策,並促使該國與西方國家之間人員和貨品的大量流通。而美國國會圖書館也得以透過管道取得並收藏這些浮世繪作品。
在國會圖書館數位化的浮世繪作品中,共可分為演員、女性、風景、文學場景、日常生活、西方外國人的觀點等幾個類別,以下是部分作品:
