Hamish had to keep an eye on other affairs besides interviewing me, so the interview had to last for a while.
On the next day of my arrival in Beijing, I dreamed I was kidnapped again.
I immediately told Hamish, “If we have set a time to meet and yet I haven’t shown up at the due time, that means I have been kidnapped.”
Hamish encouraged me, “If you are kidnapped, be brave. Tell them you have told your story to a foreign correspondent, if they kidnap you, that will make international news.”
I hastened to borrow a mini tape-recorder and two cassette tapes from Hamish, on to which I related and recorded some things that I had experienced.
I handed the tapes to Hamish as soon as the recording was done.
