This blue diamond reached a record 9.5 million dollars at a Sotheby's auction in Geneva.

It was the rarest to enter the market last year - which pushed the price up, says David Bennett who led the auction.

It was very, very exciting, I mean, there were several bidders towards the end who were desperate to have the stone."
