畫裡的這種蘭花叫「卡多利亞」，是洋蘭的一種。

這畫我們採用工筆方式來呈現。工筆畫用色瑰麗，筆觸輕巧細緻，掛起來看，真是賞心悅目。我們利用「礬紙」的特性一遍一遍地染，使層次厚重，增加它的可看性。

栽種這種蘭花不需要什麼照顧，只要把它種在蛇木上，懸吊在屋簷或樹蔭下，有空給它澆一點水，它就能活得好好的。如要賞花，加一些肥料，下一季就有您「好看」的了。

Orchid（洋蘭）

The orchid in this painting is known as a "Cattleya."
I used the traditional realistic style to portray the orchid in this painting. This style involves the use of beautiful colors, and light and delicate brushstrokes. The result is very pleasing to the eye. I took advantage of the characteristics of alum paper to apply the thick layers that make the painting so interesting.
This kind of orchid doesn't require much special care. Just grow it on a fernwood trunk, suspend it under the eaves, or leave it in the shade. Water it when you feel like it. It will probably grow just fine. If you like its flowers, add a bit of fertilizer, and there will be some flowers next season.＠
