木棉花頗入畫，很多人都喜歡畫它。

木棉花和其他花卉比較，最大的不同就在於它的花瓣是比較肥厚挺直的，稍為粗線條了些。但花色卻是美極，正面是朱紅色，背面是朱黃色，很富變化，花托肥厚，紅、綠、黑三色混在一起，畫起來很美。

木棉樹高大、英挺，但限於畫幅，我們只能畫它的局部。在花的上端我們安插一隻綠鸚鵡做為本畫的動點。

我一向習慣在畫面上作出一些淡淡淺淺的背景。一是表示鸚鵡的後面還有花，顯示出畫面的空間感；次是同一色系參差的擺上去，也比較能夠感受到整幅畫面的氛圍。

Cotton Tree （木棉）

The cotton tree appears in many paintings; a lot of people like to paint it.
The biggest difference between the cotton tree and other flowers is that its petals are plump and stick out straight, so I used thicker lines to paint it. But the flower itself is very beautiful: scarlet in front and orange in back. The flower is quite varied, and the receptacle is thick and red, green, and black in color. It looks very beautiful in a painting.
The cotton tree can grow very tall and straight. Due to the limited space, however, I only painted part of it. I also added a green parrot in the upper flowers to provide a focus point.
I habitually add some pale background scenery to my paintings. Here I showed some flowers behind the parrot, which gives the painting a greater sense of space. I also mixed in some tones from the same color system, which enhances the overall atmosphere of the painting.＠
