學生楊瓊由大陸帶回一批畫紙，其中有一部份是扇面的薄宣，說是送給老師新春試筆之用。 墨色一沾，喔，很能表現出墨的韻致，也不太吃色。於是隨手再沾些其他顏料，漫興塗鴨兩下，成了這幾幅小品，試選三張貼在這兒。 Small Works for Fans（扇面小品） My student Yang Chiung brought some paper back from China, including some thin xuan paper for use in fans. She gave it to me and said I could use it for some new trials after the New Year.
After applying some ink and pigment, I found that-wow!-it could express the charm of the ink, and wouldn't soak up too much pigment. I then applied some other colors to complete these small works after a couple of unconcerned attempts. I have decided to include three here.＠
